Lorain Wankoff, Ph.D.


Dr. Wankoff worked for 11 years as a university professor training future speech-language pathologists and at the Windward School in Westchester coaching teachers of students with dyslexia to help them implement their language-based curricula.

Dr. Wankoff  received her:
  • BA in Communicative Disorders  
  • MA in Speech-Language Pathology at Queens College  
  • PhD at the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of NewYork in Speech and Hearing Sciences

Dr. Wankoff  has:
  • edited a book entitled Innovative Methods in Language Intervention (2005)  
  • co-authored a chapter in a textbook on language development that was published in 2010 (the revision is about to be released) reviewing theories
    of language development and implications for the clinical work of the speech-language pathologist  (see Gerber and Wankoff)
  • recently (2011) published an article to educate medical professionals,
    parents and other colleagues  about warning signs in the development of speech, language and communication in a child and adolescent psychiatric nursing journal
